LOLx.. since she have something to do and have to leave at 3pm, so we meet up mid valley abit earlier... 10.30am!! lolx. so we will enough time to chat and hang around mid valley and the garden as well. hehe..
.

* X'mas Decoration @ Mid Valley *
.
so i taking bus to starline then change to ktm at bank negara to destination. is been awhile i din take KTM ady, and for the first time the KTM so emptly. lolx.. normally when i took ktm during weekend, sure pack like sardin. but today totally different. maybe because of weekdays bad. good thing! hehe..
.
reached mid valley around 10.20am. since shirley still on the way, so i walk around and took pictures. uhhh... x'mas decoration for this year just so so nia. i still prefer last year style lo. abit classic~ lolx. then about 10.40am, shady finally arrived. wow.. she really change alot.. almost cant recognize her. become much pretier ady~ XD
.

* GSC @ Mid Valley *
.
so then, we walked to gsc counter and bought 2 ticket for "Diary of the Dead".. since both of us din watch horror for quite some time ady so we decided and go for this movie though is early but the crowded with people queue for the ticket.. lolx.. luckily we manage to booked earlier to avoild from long queue. hehe.
.
since still got half an hour to go before the show start, we walked to garden for fun and how their decoration for x'mas. i will upload pictures at my FRIENDSTER BLOG soon. so have a visit on another blog as well yea. hehe. so after grab our popcorn with drinks, no doubt we're ready for the movie called "Diary of the Dead"
.
* George Romero's Diary Of The Dead *
With a story mixing elements of "The Blair Witch Project" and the long-running "Dead" series, the film is about a group of college students shooting a horror movie in the woods and stumbling upon a real zombie uprising. When the onslaught begins, they seize the moment as any good film students would, capturing the undead in a "cinema verite" style that causes more than the usual production headaches.
.
uhhh.. another disgusting movie!! some of the part really quite scary lo. but too bad... too many cut!! i rather download or buy DVD instead of watching at cinema if i know there so many cut scene!! grrhhh! anyway, i will rate 3 out 5 stars for this movie! (oh guys, take note! if u really wanna watch this movie, i suggested u can either download or just buy dvd. watch at cinema totally waste ur money)
.

* Prosperity Meal *
.
so after the show, we went for lunch at McD.. yeah! i had ordered prosperity meal!! yummy! but.. the price quite "yummy" as well.. around RM15! leh.. huhu.. the price really increase alot lo. if not mistaken, last year is just around rm12-13 nia.. huhu.. .
after our lunch.. we hang around mid valley for awhile.. then around 2.30.. she have to leave liao.. since she got something to do at 3pm. meanwhile i have to bring 2 of my aunt friends for interview. its nice to see her again today. wish to see her soon! tomorrow is the last day for 2008! so enjoy ur last 2008 "kao kao" ya! :)

IP Man -Review-

Movie Review-

IP MAN

It's a case of dejà vu seeing Donnie Yen all done up as Grandmaster Ip in "Ip Man". He looked very much like the modern founder himself. Comparing Donnie to the rest of the best martial artists like Jet Li isn't hard. In fact, what makes Donnie stand out is his fighting style and the way he works. For Donnie, it has always been the macho looking, no-nonsense type of action hero. Here, I dare you - try putting Donnie in Jackie Chan's shoes.

Forget "The Forbidden Kingdom". Since Jet Li's "Fearless," it's been a while since there was something this good. Believed to be the mother of all martial arts schools, the place where "Ip Man" was shot looks almost like the one in "Fearless." What differentiates them is the number of billboards and modern-looking cars.

The narration in biopics is very important and "Ip Man" is up to mark. We are taken on a journey about the Grandmaster's early life and how China goes from peace and affluence to war-torn chaos when the Japanese invaded the area. The story telling is a balanced one, with a good start and a strong finish with no loose ends. Don't put too much hope on the substandard subtitles, though.

One of the things that excite me is seeing Donnie work his magic in bringing the legendary master to life. Already in his mid forties, Donnie can still kick a whole lot of butt no doubt. With his lighting hands, I'm at a loss of words to describe the artistry. Sorry, Michelle. Your 1994 "Wing Chun" just can't beat Donnie's.

However, if there's something missing from "Ip Man", it's that full shot of students practicing under a hot sun on a windy afternoon that we get in every other martial arts film. In the case of "Ip Man", not only is the windy afternoon gone, the group of students are excluded as well. Director Wilson Yip and martial arts director Sammo Hung opted for a more contemporary style, which is to use ageing factory workers displaying their skills in a confined garden. Talking about originality, huh?

"Ip Man" is good enough to watch for a second time. With over 200 million estimated wing chun practitioners all over the world (Bruce Lee being the most famous), the movie would definitely do well if each and every one of them goes to watch "Ip Man"!

X'mas Celebration Continues!

* Leon @ Times Square *
.
okie.. x'mas celebration just havent end yet! lolx.. oh yeah! today our MCA team gather at times square! haha.. is been some time we didnt gather together and gossip-ing ady. miss our secondary school memory. well today is the day for us to gather and celebrate christmas! haha.. so around 1pm, john come and fetch me up.. den we went to ekin house to fetch him as well.. while jason and william going by their transport. we reached low yat about 3pm.. without wastin any more time, we walked to red box! haha.. few week din sing-k ady! i'm addicted to sing nowdays! hehe. oh yeah. make sure visit my friendster blog, gonna post some intresting video. XD
.
so after karaoke session finished about 6.30pm, our next plan- MOVIE! haha.. den quickly walked from low yat to times square to get the ticket "IP MAN"~ luckily we manage to get ticket in last minute.. lolx.. the seat also quite nice. not too back, not too back. hehe. 15 minute before the show start, we hang around times square to killed the time and i saw papa's john pizza restaurant finally open. haha.. gonna try it soon. we walked till forget the time.. shit! then we rushed back to cinema for the show! -IP MAN!
.

Ip Man is adapted from the life story of Ip Man, the grand master of the Wing Chun style of kung fu and sifu (master) of legendary kung fu superstar Bruce Lee. This movie will be the first important record of the master's life. Ip's persistent devotion to Wing Chun is a classic example of the love and respect shown to wushu and the freedom and spirit it represents. Ip Man is a concept, a spirit, a way of thinking - and it represent a new peak in Hong Kong’s wushu movies.
.
donnie yen's movie never let you disappointed. he prove it right once again in his latest movie- IP Man. the story is just simple and nice. unlike others movie, complicated and not understand at all. the action of martial art is just nice. man.. non-stop action, from begining till the end. i will rate this 3.5 out of 5 stars! whoever still havent watch yet, get the ticket with the popcorn. worth your money and 100% satisfied! :)
.
the movie ends at 8.45pm, jason and william leave first since they rushin for time. so left myself, john and ekin. we walked awhile at times square and searchin right present to david.. but.. huhu.. couldnt find. so we walked back to low yat, get back the car and john us back to setapak.

.
after sleeping for whole day yesterday, is time for me to wake up! lolx.. yesterday i done nothing but sleep, online, eat and sleep again. sound abit lifeless huh? haha.. so today am going out with john and jason to pavilion. actually we wanna to watch "IP Man" but urhmmm.. the seat very limited and the queue quite long. that why we give up and we went for dinner at TGI Friday. we didnt order much la, just one set of 3 course meal and another one main course.
.

* Dinner @ TGI Friday *
.

.
so after the dinner, we walked to Radius International Hotel, Golden City Spa. yeah. we had spa, jazzuci and massage. phew~ how relaxful and joy. lolx. that's called life. XD

.

* Leon @ Bintang walk *

.

after spend almost 3 hours at GCS, we decided to leave and our next location is sungei wang. i wanted to buy midori last episode. hehe.. so during the way to sungei wang, we saw alot of malay sakai dancing at there. man.. really insane. that can consider illegal gathering liao coz too many malay pig.. guess they nothing dancing from morning till night. what kind of human. or sould i say, what kind of trash are they? :)

.

* bukit bintang, crowded with malay pig *
.

The Spirit -Review-

Movie Review-
The Spirit

.

Quote from the fact sheet: "In the vein of BATMAN BEGINS and SIN CITY, THE SPIRIT takes us on a sinister, gut-wrenching ride with a hero who is born, murdered and born again". Hold up, are you kidding me? This film is nothing close to gut-wrenching, it's more side-splitting than anything else. Moreover, names like The Octopus, Silken Floss, and Plaster of Paris is already warming up the laugh-o-meter.
.
Based on Will Eisner's comic book series, "The Spirit" is Frank Miller's debut as a director and is on its way to what could be the most hilarious movie of the year! No joke - well in my books, that is. Tongue firmly in its cheek, this noir crime comedy (as I'd like to call it) will bust a rib or two with its crazy humorous script. "Die Spirit, die! Die like Star Trek!" as said by The Octopus played by Samuel L. Jackson. The film is occasionally accompanied with cheesy and corny lines. One would expect scenes in the film to be a little more serious and action packed, but no, it hardly ever is.
.
The Octopus is an immortal villain who has some serious personal issues with eggs and wants to kill The Spirit who is also an immortal being. However, hatred is not what drives him, it's the obsession he has for power. Thus, killing The Spirit is his best option, so that when he drinks the blood of Heracles, he shall be only one capable of being God, or at least the next best thing. Sand Saref (Eva Mendez) on the other hand, is The Spirit's old flame and she is somehow mixed into the whole shenanigan. The fighting sequence isn't what you would expect from two immortal beings. It comes across as mere child's play, thrown in with a few silly jokes. How unexpected is that?
.
Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johanson, Eva Mendez play their characters well. However, Gabriel Macht who plays The Spirit is rather dull and very disappointing for a titular character.
The visual style of the film is attractive and creative, never letting you forget that you are in a comic world. However, sometimes the effects can be rather hard to appreciate due to the dark atmosphere. This could be the director wanting to just focus on the actors and not the background. On another note, the character's costumes are so strangely mixed and matched. The Spirit wears a black trenchcoat with fedora and sneakers, while Jackson's jedi robes seem to be recycled to save on the film's budget and then he wears a samurai outfit in the next scene. What gives?

.
Overall, "The Spirit" is a dumbed down movie but still worth watching for the laughs. Feel free to try and get into the spirit!
