finally month of february, Chinese New Year, holidays, honeymoon is over. new month, new day lets kickstart with a new hope, new target. and i realized that i abandoned this blog since before chinese new year. well will try to update more starting this month onward.

today i went to McD for redeem a FREEE burger from mcD! yeah.. i got the voucher last friday from one of the McD staff when i havin my lunch with my colleagues, suddenly he come to our table and pass the voucher to us. thanks to him, else i wont get a free breakfast~ lolx. xD

i reached masjid jamek at 8.45am and i rushed to the nearest mcD for the burger. since i owe Shirley a meal, so i decided to buy her a breakfast coz McD having a promtion now! weekday breakfast starting from RM4 ONLY!!

as we know Valentine is just a week to go! and guess what we had just matched a new couple! xD

last friday, the day started with morning briefing with playing game in office but then "Tai Ko" Wai Loon as usual refused to taking part. so as punishment, he have to pick a draw "poison" from us. normally the punishment will be like singing, dancing but this time *evil smile* is totally different. rather than dancing, singing why not match him with her rumors girlfriend, Pinky? LOLx. so basicallywe prepare 5 poison for him to pick, and all of it is with a note: face to face with Pinky, and say "I LOVE YOU"!

ofcoz we shocked and compained he been cheated. so wanted to open all of poison note, thanks to siti has prepared other set of punishment. he opened others poison but is different punishment. so he got no choice but accept it. then all of us, the whole team accompany him to ING campaign as he will confess his love to his loved one. xD

after had my fantastic Xmas lunchie with Phang's family, we start our journey to taiping. we move from PJ at 7.30pm and it take 3 hours for us to reach Ipoh. yeah! we purposely stop at Ipoh for the dinner. what most famous in Ipoh??

last christmas i spent my holidays with Mr Phang 3 day 2 night to his hometown, Taiping. on the 25th before journey of Taiping begin, i been invited by himself and his relatives to his aunt's house for christmas lunch. xD

Movie Buff: Case 39

Went for "Case 39" movie with Jocelyn last sunday at Times Square and honestly im pretty disappointed with the storyline. the story almost similiar with "Drag Me To Hell" and "Orphan". seriously i would suggest not to watch it at cinema. is just wasted your value of time and money! watch it if you are horror freak. lolx. xD

below is a summary the of movie:

"Case 39" is a horror film starring Renée Zellweger as social worker Emily Jenkins. Emily thinks she has seen it all until she meets her newest, most mysterious case - a troubled 10-year-old Lillith Sullivan (Jodelle Ferland). Emily's worst fears are confirmed when the parents try to kill Lillith, their only daughter. Emily saves her and decides to take her herself until the right foster family comes along. However, the situation soon escalates into danger.

MOVIE REVIEW

In "Case 39", we see social worker Emily Jenkins (Renee Zellweger) trying to save Lilith Sullivan (Jodelle Ferland) from her abusive parents without realising that it might not be the best decision of her life.

"Case 39" is no different from other horror films because there are some scenes that would make the audience jump. However, this film directed by Germany's Christian Alvart, lacks originality in the story. While watching, the writer was constantly reminded of a combination of films such as "Orphan" and "Drag Me To Hell". However, there is a memorable scene that the writer recalls clearly and that is the scene when Lilith's parents try to kill her by putting her in the oven.

Zellweger fails to deliver in this film. It's too bad really considering that Zellweger is a capable actress. Other than that, heartthrob Bradley Cooper as Douglas who loves Emily is also disappointing. Their romance is not convincing. Zellwager looks awkward acting oppsite Cooper. Who would have thought that the two would really date in real life! Jodelle Ferland who was ten at the time does not disappoint and outshines her co-stars! She managed to portray a troubled child and her eyes staring at you can be a bit creepy. For those who don't know, Isabelle Fuhrman who plays Esther in "Orphan" was once considered for the role of Lilith. Thank goodness Fehrland was chosen, otherwise it would have been boring watching Fuhrman rehashing her role.

A good horror film would not be complete without the use of good computer generated images (CGI). Unfortunately, not a of lot CGI was used and this makes the film quite dull. Even the special effects used during the scene when Douglas was in the bathroom looked ordinary and was not exciting. However, not all was dull like the scene when Emily burnt the house down, which looked real and convincing. For your information, in the scene that involved fire, the fire special effects for this film went out of control and burnt the whole set down including the stage studio and almost the entire crew's equipment. It was worth it though as the scene looked more realistic.

The final entrant is Batista! Batista comes in as a house of fire, taking everyone out and planting Cena with a spinebuster, but he walks right into a spear from Edge. Edge eats an AA from Cena. It all comes down to HBK, Batista, Cena and Edge. Michaels is able to fight off everyone for a bit, taking out both Cena and Batista. HBK goes to the top again, this time connecting with an elbow to Cena. HBK hits an enzugiri to Batista and goes up top for an elbow drop to Batista. HBK connects with SCM on Cena and Batista, but he ends up clotheslined out to the apron by Edge eats a SCM on the apron, knocking him back in the ring, but Batista attacks HBK from behind and Michaels falls to the floor, being eliminated in the process. Michaels attacks a referee and makes his way back into the ring, where he pleads his case with another ref. In anger, Michaels hits the ref with SCM and falls to the canvas, clutching his head.

Michaels finally begins to make his way to the back, looking distraught. It's down to Cena, Batista, and Edge. Batista charges Cena, and Cena counters with a low bridge, Batista falls to the floor and we're down to two men! Edge stalks Cena from behind, but Cena turns around and hits Edge with a kick. Edge shrugs it off and sends Cena over the top rope and to the floor.

Movie Review

On 23 December, a restaurant becomes the last bastion for a group of people after God loses faith in humanity because of their greed, lack of compassion, and ungratefulness. The 'General' to all angels, Michael (Paul Bettany) tries to help by coming down to Earth to protect Charlie (Adrianne Palicki) who is eight months pregnant and carrying humanity's would-be saviour.

The writer took a long time to understand the story, especially wondering why Michael wants to protect Charlie so much. This is because in the first hour, there was so much action happening. There could be certain quarters that might get swayed with the story. It must be stressed that this film is strictly for entertainment. However, there are some scenes that have been cut by the Censorship Board. The writer just couldn't figure out how the filmmakers could have such vivid imaginations as to produce this film. There is no need to wait for the birth of a baby to save humanity as God has already created many disasters to teach mankind a lesson. Without us realising, many have already happened. Wars, the destruction of the world, humanity lacking compassion, greedy for riches, and being ungrateful has already occurred. Imagine if humanity could meet with the angels Michael and Gabriel. (In Islam, Michael is known as Mikail (giver of good fortune) while angel Gabriel is known as Jibril (the one who passes on God's messages).

Having previously played priests and monks in his last few works, Paul Bettany ("The Da Vinci Code") once again is involved in another Christian-themed film. In "Legion", his character does not have a lot of lines but more action. Bettany had said in an interview that he was excited as his character got to wear wings. Other than Bettany and Palicki, "Legion" also stars other talented actors such as Lucas Black ("The Fast And The Furious Tokyo Drift"), Dennis Quaid ("G.I Joe: The Rise Of Cobra"), Kate Walsh (TV's "Private Practice") and Tyrese Gibson ("Transformers"). Their performances do not disappoint.

The CGI that can be seen in this film are convincing and do not disappoint, especially in the scene where humans are possessed and when Percy (Charles S. Dutton) is burnt after being splashed by acid till his spine could be seen. Other than that, the music that's included in the film also gives off a creepy dark vibe and would keep the audience on their toes.

Chinese New Year is almost near. TIME FOR SHOPPING! oh yeah! i went to KLCC for shop as its members day for ISETAN members. the shopping mall is damn crowded with peoples but luckily i still manage to get myself 2 clothes, 1 pants and 1 leather shoes! which it cost me bout rm200. xD

after done with shop for my CNY stuff, myself and Siau Shiang went for lunchie at mcD. yeah! im craving for Prosperity burgerr!! and to make your meal complete, add another rm1.50 for SUNDAE! yea right! 50% off from normal price! =D

hell yeah! Dwayne Johnson a.k.a The Rock is back! my all time favourite wrestler return to big screen and this he as Tooth Fairy! xD

below is a summary of the movie!

Dwayne Johnson is "The Tooth Fairy," also known as Derek Thompson, a hard-charging minor league hockey player whose nickname comes from his habit of separating opposing players from their bicuspids. When Derek discourages a youngster's hopes, he's sentenced to one week's hard labour as a real tooth fairy, complete with the requisite wings, magic wand. At first, Derek can't handle the tooth - bumbling and stumbling as he tries to secretly wing his way through strangers' home doing what tooth fairies do. But as Derek slowly adapts to his new position, he begins to rediscover his own forgotten dreams.

Dwayne Johnson is not the type of guy you'd imagine as a tooth fairy. He plays Derek Thompson, a minor-league hockey player who has a habit of separating opposing players from their bicuspids; therefore he is dubbed the "Tooth Fairy". From the outside, it seems that all is well with him; he's a fan favourite and has a blooming relationship with his girlfriend Carly (Ashley Judd) and her two kids (with the exception of the oldest Randy, a moody teenager).

Unfortunately, Derek has a bit of a temper and also tends to be a little insensitive. One day, after a game, he tells a young fan, an aspiring hockey player that he would never be a successful hockey player. This gets Derek to be summoned to Fairyland and sentenced to work as a Tooth Fairy for several weeks until he learns his lesson. For everytime he breaks a fairy rule, his sentence gets extended.

Derek is handed a handler Tracy (Stephen Merchant) who teaches him the ropes of a fairy's job scope. At first, Derek fails miserably but then as the movie progresses, naturally gets better at it. The movie presents tooth fairies in a way you've never seen them before. Who would've thought that tooth fairies would have ID photo-taking services for example? And that Julie Andrews would play the head of the Tooth Fairies Lily? Johnson is in a role that's familiar to him, a buffed up sports star turned kid-friendly guy. Look out for Billy Crystal who has not been seen on screen for a while in a small role as Jerry, a sort-of fairy inventor. This film does have its comical moments and you will enjoy it. Also, the CGI in this film, though simple, aids the film in telling the story to the audience and is used sparingly.

The film is a heartwarming film, which is suitable for the entire family. Of course, with a title like "Tooth Fairy", it is obvious whom the intended audience is for. For a perfect family outing film, pick this movie. It's tailor-made for the entire family to enjoy.

last night i went out for dinner for hot, spicy, cheesy and licious steamboat with John and Siau Shiang at Home Town, Genting Kelang. supposedly we plan to chill and have a beer at Station One, but suddenly we changed our mind and end up with steamboat at Home Town. the main reason we was there coz we wanted to try their signature chessy dip!! xD

we go for 2 pax of steamboat with tom yam and herbal soup and 1 pax for cheesy dip.

Movie Buff: The Spy Next Door

"The Spy Next Door" stars Jackie Chan as Bob Ho, an undercover CIA superspy who decides to give up his career in espionage to settle down with his next-door neighbour and girlfriend, Gillian (Amber Valletta). But Bob has one more mission to complete before Gillian agrees to marry him: winning over her three opinionated kids. When Gillian suddenly has to leave town, Bob volunteers to babysit the children so he can earn their approval. But when one of the kids mistakenly downloads a top-secret formula from his computer, Bob's archenemy, a Russian terrorist, moves in for the attack, forcing Bob to juggle the roles of spy and prospective stepfather in the most challenging mission of his career.

Movie Review

The movie starts off with a nice montage of Jackie Chan's past movies, both Hong Kong and Hollywood, portraying his breathtaking stunt works, played to the theme of "Secret Agent Man". The story and comedy is very family-friendly, not offering much for those who aren't watching this with children, unless they themselves are pre-pubescent. However, audiences should be thrilled and "aw-ed" by the peachy and wittier-than-usual four year old Nora, which is probably the best pairing for Jackie in this movie.

Speaking of pairing, Magnus Scheving does a splendid job of matching the acrobatic stunts of Jackie Chan, which isn't actually very surprising, as he is a famous Icelandic athlete specialising in aerobic gymnastics. The Jackie-Magnus combo gives a fresh, new and "remixed" feel to the typical Hollywood acrobatic stunts and the battle of Bob and Poldark is fairly eye-catching with jumps, spins and rolls all orchestrated in symphony.

However, the rest of the kungfu action is typical Jackie Chan as he fights the bad guys using everyday household items such as pots, pans and plates. The portrayal of the villains is done distastefully in Hollywood-endorsed stereotypical Russian, with the heavy accents and the simple-minded muscular henchmen.

In summary, this is a movie where the good guys AND bad guys are "nice", mixed in with a couple of cornball and goofy jokes. Clearly a family oriented movie meant only for children, and adults with a lot of tolerance and patience.

i went out to Pavilion with Jingle after work for a movie "The Spy Next Door". Thanks her for reached there earlier and purchase ticket earlier. my bad for the lateness... been force to work OT.. sigh..

since the show gonna start soon, so we choose a place that serve food fast & soon, pick & eat! lolx. yea. we went to Sakae Sushi for our dinner! =D

Below is summary of a movie:

JU-ON: WHITE GHOST - In a certain house, a son who failed the bar examination kills five members of his family one by one. He then dies by hanging himself. At the moment of his death, he made a cassette tape recording in which he can be heard saying "I'll go. I'll go soon..." On the same tape can be heard the eerie sound of a young girl's voice. The entire family is slaughtered. A former friend, Mirai, is murdered, her throat slit. In the midst of her despair, a young girl, Akane (Akina Minami), sees.

JU-ON: BLACK GHOST - Nurse Yuko (Ai Kago) is left in charge of a young girl named Fukie, and begins to experience strange things. Medical examination reveals that there is a 'cyst' in Fukie's body. The hatred of the unborn one is feeding off of the young girl and curses the people around her. This is the grudge of someone that could not be born. Filled with an unimaginable 'hatred', people are killed one after the other with a curse.

On a serious note, however, the movie starts off with the story of the White Ghost. It begins with a family massacre. A son murders five members of his family when he starts to hear a cassette tape of a voice that keeps repeating, "I'll go. I'll go soon..." He himself then commits suicide, also recording a similar message. The White Ghost then starts to haunt everyone who is related to the house, visited the house, or has a connection to anyone in the house. However, the one who is most affected is Akane (Akina Minami) who has a sixth sense, and also a childhood friend of the murdered little girl from the massacre.

The second movie, of the Black Ghost has more in common with the original "Ju-on" movie. It is about a nurse Yuko (Ai Kago) who takes care of a patient Fukie, only to have the spirit of Fukie's unborn twin haunt her, hence the Black Ghost. And yes, it's a dark ghost, which thus explains its name. It also explains the origins of the ghost in the original "Ju-on" movie.

The two movies both utilise the technique of flashback sequences. They can be confusing at times and sometimes does not correlate with the movie. For example, in the White Ghost film, the aftermath of the massacre is shown in the beginning of the movie, while the actual massacre is placed in the middle. But rest assured, you will be able to follow the two movies. You'll also get used to how the ghosts appears, which soon might make it feel repetitive.

Most of the known characters are present in this film - from Holmes to Lestrade, even to their pug and the gypsy woman who works for the detective. Robert Downey Jr. in his quest to become the perfect Holmes did a mighty fine job in stripping off the cliche look that people would go for. In his rowdy and disorderly appearance, he manages to humanise the character to a T. Jude Law plays a fine Dr Watson and manages to share an equal limelight with Downey. However, it is a bit of a shame that Irene Adler lost her mystery as "The Woman" who was ever able to outplay Holmes. The costume choice made Rachel McAdams look like a "Soho girl" instead of a lady, though she did a pretty good job in her role.

Taking the period of which Dr Watson is moving away from 221 Baker Street to marry his dream woman, the only rust in this solid performance is the rapidity of the film. Although clocking at 2 hours and 8 minutes, every single scene is done in such quickness that for those who are new to the character and the British accent will find it difficult to follow every detail and explanation.

Anyway, this reviewer has deducted that from the way the film ended, there will be a sequel and it will involve a professor. Here's a clue - he's Holmes greatest enemy. The game's afoot!

watched it during a trip to penang. i got no idea why i go for this movie.. perhaps coz of chi ling? lolx. she really super pretty! fell in love with her since her first debut in red clift. but somehow is very disappointed. the show was too slow, too fake, and yea.. JAY CHOU CANT ACT!! lolx.. almost fall to sleep -__-"

In the northwest desert where countless prosperous dynasties have flourished and fallen, there is rumour of a buried treasure of unbelievable riches. A group of mysterious guardians have kept the map to the location safe, until a fierce rivalry erupts. A notorious international crime group, The Company, hunts down the map keepers and before they manage to secure it, the keeper passes the map to a young chivalrous man named Ciao Fei (Jay Chou). In Kevin Chu's "Treasure Hunter", "The Mummy" gets an Asian treatment as Taiwanese tomb raiders go to Mainland China and frolick about in the deep desert to cook up some Indiana Jones adventure. Mr. Chou does manage to do better this time around. He's a devil-may-care, bike-riding cowboy drifter who's also the guardian of an ancient city. Armed with kungfu and long flowing rebel hair, he also finds time to fall in love with a young author played by a vibrant Lin Chi Ling. Throw in a mysterious treasure map and some generic villains and you get a full feature with enough visual rewards to make it worth your time.

However, the obviously derivative elements in "Treasure Hunter" won't find too much support among more discerning adventure movie fans. The hybrid production set combines worlds that are both ancient and modern, so the movie can be very unsettling at times. Still no fan of Chou's will give this a miss and his star appeal will be enough to elevate this to some level of box office success. Perhaps in territories like China where the influx of Hollywood movies are capped and governed by law, everyone will think that Jay Chou cracking a whip is the birth of a new hero icon. The rest are probably just happy that he didn't spot a fedora.

Movie Buff: Alvin And The Chipmunks 2

Oh yeah! im back to KL! really have very enjoyable christmas trip. will update more on the following post. I went to pavilion today with Jess for the Alvin And The Chipmunks 2: The Squeakuel show after had our dinner at KFC. the bad boys are back for the second sequel after 2 years. and still remain the same. really relaxing and fun to watch. ^^

below is a summary of the movie:

In the "Alvin And The Chipmunks 2: The Squeakuel", pop sensations Alvin, Simon and Theodore end up in the care of Dave Seville's twenty-something nephew Toby (Zachary Levi). The boys must put aside music superstardom to return to school, and are tasked with saving the school's music program by winning the US$25,000 prize in a battle of the bands. But the Chipmunks unexpectedly meet their match in three singing chipmunks known as "The Chipettes" - Brittany, Eleanor and Jeanette. Romantic and musical sparks are ignited when the Chipmunks and Chipettes square off.

Movie Review

All the characters from the first movie return to the sequel with the addition of new cast members. The new Chipettes are voiced respectively by Christina Applegate as Brittany, Anna Faris as Jeanette, and Amy Poehler as Eleanor. Jason Lee returns as the Chipmunks guardian, Dave Seville, and David Cross as the villain Ian Hawke. The new characters, other than the Chipettes are Zachary Levi as Dave's cousin Toby, and Wendie Malick as the Chipmunks school principal Dr. Rubin. Kathryn Joosten makes a cameo as Dave's Aunt Jackie, tasked to look after the Chipmunks when Dave gets injured.

The movie starts off at a fast pace. The story just dives into the Chipmunks world, there is no introduction for first time viewers. It is advisable that if planning to see the movie, do watch the first one. Otherwise, there'll be some serious confusion going on as the movie expects viewers from the first movie who know the characters well to catch this sequel.

Still, as Alvin and the Chipmunks are well-known characters and have been around for long, expect die-hard fans to catch this movie. This movie is definitely made for the kiddie audience and yes; they'll have a great time watching it, as it doesn't disappoint in terms of pace, dialogue, and action. Among the songs featured and sung by both the Chipmunks and Chipettes are Katy Perry's "Hot N Cold", Beyonce's "Single Ladies", and Flo Rida's "Right Round". If you love the songs and want to see them done chipmunk-style, then go watch this movie.

The CGI in the movie of the Chipmunks and Chipettes are acceptable. While not brilliant, the audience won't mind. Performance wise, the voice actors do a good job in their roles. However, Lee's Dave character seems to have fewer screen time compared to in the first movie.

hohoho!! merry christmas!! yeah right! 2 more days to go before christmas! really excited for it. hehe.. last week our Chartis team had our pre-x'mas celebration by having a portluck party. and i gonna say OMG!! the foods was too many than wat i expected and its super yummy!! from apertizer to desersts, from eastern to western! and seriously i ate till feel wanna vomit. WTF! lolx.

whooooo!!! Avatar! finally i get to watch it!! although i failed to get a ticket last thursday. but somehow i manage to get it last night! thanks goodness! hehe. so i went out with Jess yesterday for the show. and guess what, the show was surprisingly awesome than wat i expected! superb action!

"Avatar" is an emotional journey of redemption and revolution. Thus, combining the elements of massive spectacle and intimate character that made James Cameron's "Titanic" the highest grossing film of all time.

MOVIE REVIEW

"Avatar" centres on Jack Sully (Sam Worthington), a U.S. marine who is paralysed from the waist down. He is recruited to travel to a planet called Pandora, where it is inhabited by an indigenous population known as the Na'vi, which takes on a human-like form but with a tail, blue complexion and a height that is 10 feet tall. Jack soon participates in an Avatar programme, whereby he will inhabit the body of a genetically-engineered Na'vi hybrid known as an Avatar. While his existence in the world of Na'vis has its own agenda, chaos erupts when the humans begin to attack their peaceful habitat in order to pillage their natural resources.

Australian actor Sam Worthington successfully delivers his part perfectly as a down-right humanitarian who is brave and loyal. Initially supposed to help Colonel Miles (Stephen Lang) destroy the Na'vi's homeland, we soon witness him embrace the Na'vi race despite not actually being one. Furthermore his strong feelings for the beautiful Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) made him willingly sacrifice anything for her, even betraying his own kind. As for Zoe Saldana, she holds her stand as a patient and wise teacher towards Jack as she slowly guides him to become one of them. She too has her fair amount of action sequences with her enemies. Stephen Lang's performance does not fall below the bar of excellence as a colonel who tries to destroy the Na'vi race. Without fail, he makes sure audiences form an immense hatred towards his actions.

Throughout the film, viewers will be at awe towards the gorgeous, other worldly imagination of Pandora, unusual wild animals, and also during Jack's transformation as an Avatar. The visuals throughout the movie are no doubt stunning; however the story lacked originality.

If you're hoping that dishing out some extra cash for the 3-D version would to be worthwhile, that won't be necessary as there aren't many 3-D pop-out effects. Nonetheless, audiences will be entertained visually throughout the film. Maybe after this, James Cameron will shift his status from the "King Of The World" to "Master Of The Universe" as he manages to create amazing films throughout his involvement in the industry.

The graphic was super awesome! no doubt it gonna be much better in 3D version.. regret that i couldnt get the ticket for 3D version. should i go for second round?? lolx. anyway it was amazing movie that you MUST WATCH! with the movie length more that 2.5 hours, really worth your time and money to watch it! =)

whoooo!! finally i watched it!! hell yeah! one of the most violent movie of the year! no doubt bout it. this movie even not allowed to show in Malaysia. thanks to our STUPIAK local movie distributor for banned it with a reason too violent and too much sex scene. lol. WTF! but somehow i manage to watch it via download. thanks Teddy for sharing his source. really appreciated it. =)

It has been one year since Laurie Strode is thought to have killed masked serial killer Michael Myers, shooting him squarely in the head during a fight to the death. His body was never recovered, however, and as the witching holiday once again approaches, Laurie is besieged with bad dreams and an overwhelming sense that danger could be eminent. Sheriff Brackett and a now-reclusive Annie try to provide comforting shoulders—they have taken her in since the murders of her parents—but they are ill-equipped to handle the bombshell that comes with the release of psychologist Dr. Samuel Loomis' (Malcolm McDowell) new book about the Haddonfield massacre. Laurie's shocked discovery that she is really Angel Myers, biological sister to Michael, coincides with her evil brother's return to his old stomping ground. After all that has happened and is now known, her latest reunion with Michael is about to become intensely personal.

"Halloween II" has plenty of graphic death scenes to please genre gorehounds, but these come as asides to writer-director Rob Zombie's main focus: to catch up with people twelve months after all their lives were irrevocably altered. None of the survivors of "Halloween" are the same as they once were. The smiling, innocent Laurie is now a traumatized shell, parentless and attempting to move on with a life she fears may be beyond repair. The feisty Annie, coming off a near-death experience, has had to grow up quickly, taking on a motherly role with no desire to leave the house. Sheriff Brackett has struggled to remain a steadfast rock for both girls. And Dr. Loomis, having written a book that exploits a tragedy he himself went through, has sold his soul in exchange for fortune and fame. Honest and uncompromising, Zombie's vision for all his characters rings true, building them beyond their limited, one-note development in the past film and into altogether more interesting and complicated human beings.

Whereas Zombie's "Halloween" misplaced suspense for to-the-point slaughter and lost much sight of humanity in a stream of endless four-letter words, "Halloween II" is more organic. The language, while coarse, never becomes overbearing, deriving instinctively out of situations. The first act alone, set immediately after the last pic's events as Laurie is followed by Michael to the hospital, is a high-wire act of rattling tension and veritably unpredictable "how-is-she-going-to-escape?" apprehension. Michael, fleeing from the scene of his crimes and having no choice but to take on the life of a vagrant for the transitory year, is at his most ruthless and threatening, looking infinitely more imposing with his rapidly deteriorating mask and increasingly hulking frame. The way Michael is often shot in darkness and shadows here adds to his monstrosity and threat, while his eyes never let you forget he is also a man. Indeed, for the first time in over a decade, he is once again a frightening cinematic villain.

There will be viewers who walk out of "Halloween II" perplexed, ill-prepared for the sobering helping of reality served up by Rob Zombie and the intermittent flights of fancy that pose as a staunch counterpoint to the almost documentary feel. The film is not perfect—the hallucinations and dreams involving a ghostly Deborah Myers (Sheri Moon Zombie), a young Michael (Chase Vanek), and a white horse are majorly trippy, but more a flourish than a necessity, and it is never satisfactorily explained how the grown-up Michael keeps being able to track Laurie and her friends down—but it is ambitious and even noble. Almost shocking how skillfully anchored it is, "Halloween II" is confidently and assuredly its own beast, and what a beast it is. Righting the wrongs of the remake and leaving the audience with more than just a line-up of kills to think about when the end credits roll, Zombie has crafted a film as disturbing as it should be, a thought-provoking rumination on everything from the cascading impact of tragic circumstances to the frailty of life. When the well-known theme music by John Carpenter makes its thunderous appearance at the end, it is well worth the wait. Even more telling, "Halloween II" is solid enough on its own that the famous score was hardly missed at all.

last week on the 10th december i went out for The Storm Warrriors movie with Svun at Tropicana City Mall. is my second time be here at TCM and seems like no changes at all since the first i been here. its still very empty if compare with other major shopping complex around the klang valley area. huhu.

is my first time to have a dinner here and gonna say it's fantastic! oh yea. i do enjoy the dishes very much especially the honey chicken wing and bbq lamb! really ate alot till i can feel my tummy getting round and bigger ady. lolx. anyway is a nice outing with both my couzie and kah lin. remind me the time when we was working in diners. hopefully in future we will have this kind of outing offen with the makan-makan mission.
